Variants

Hello folks,

I am having a question regarding variants. Here is my problem.

I am having a field 'field1' on the selection screen declared using select-options (no intervals)and disabled for input.

The values in to this field are populated in the following way using a button created on the selection screen.

The button on the selection screen which when clicked will bring up a list of values. Select all entries and these entries will be populated in to 'field1'.

Then I had saved it as a variant. Again when I came back and selected the variant...I am able to see all values selected earlier for 'field1' but I am not able to modify the values (deselect some entries or deselect all...infact, I want to make changes to the field1 list...like add or delete some entries). I am wondering how this can be handled???. Please suggest.

Thanks,

Hi Naren,

As Phani mentioned correctly When you have maintained Field as input disabled that system won't allow you modify the variant as "Input disabled:. Please make your selection-option field Enabled then it will allow you to change the variant.

Hi Naren,

You have disabled the field for input. Is there any purpose for that. You can enable for input so that you can have access to that field.

When the Super BOM is built, there could be a need to select “few” characteristic values by Engineering/Manufacturing team to choose correct dynamic BOM. Sales team would give 95% requirements, but it defines Sales pricing & sufficient confidence to accept the order. But these 95% characteristic values may not correctly define Dynamic BOM / Dynamic Routing. Remaining 5% has to be chosen by appropriate teams. How, When & Where the selection of remaining appropriate characteristic to be done by Engg/Mtg teams?
