Variants for Tables

Hello Experts!

Transaction SM30 has in the lower part an input filed named

"Variants". If you focus this field by the mouse and enter F4 (value

help request ) there will be shown a couple of Variants.

Where or have these Variants been created.

What has to be done to see any Variant here. How did the guys

creat these Variants to its Views. I dont understand this relation.

Hi

Press F1 and see the doc it is self explanatory

It is obsolete from 3.1

Only you can create varaints for Views

See if you wants to see the data with some values of fields create avariant and enter then if you press display those values of the view can be seen

U cannot create a variant for a view and see it in sm30 as said by the above

the variant has to be maintained in the table TVIMV

which is generally done by Basis ppl.

So then only it gets displayed in sm30.

Hope u will understand this and if helpful award points for the same.

Dear All!

Thank you very much for replys but the best help would be

to say how to do it really and not that it is old or obselete.

Generally through you can realize it.

Call se54 / Menu "Environment" / Variants / and enter

a new Variantname at your hearts option and press

"Maintain". Thats it.
