what do u mean by an user or a 'client' acc to SAP.Also what do u mean by user authorisations.

Hi,
Client is nothiong but a group of users.
Each user should one an ID and password to enter into SAP system.
For some transactions and programs, user should have an authorization to execute.

For SAP people customers are the MNC companies which are using SAP software for projects implementations.
And users are the people who are having the SAP userid and password.
Clients are the customers to MNC companies to use the SAP software in their bussiness process.

Client is nothing but a separate environment where you maintain data separately...Each client will be having it's own purpose.
Authorisation is some thing like restricting users to a set of txn codes. This actually preserves sensitive data.
This job will be taken care by BASIS guys.
You can take a small example: if you bank id and password, you are the user for the bank. And using that id n password, you can only view your data but not others..
