I have heard there is a setting that one can make in SAP to specify that if you are running a Unicode version of SAP that you can still submit non-unicode data. So, somewhere in SM59 or other a setting so that IDOCS etc., may still be submitted in non-Unicode format from a Unicode SAP instance.
There is a setting for both inbound and outbound. Please let me know where this type of configuration setting is made.
Thanks

Hi
In SM59 You can click the Unicode button to determine whether the receiving system is an unicode
system or not..

Abdul,
Thanks for the note. In SM59 there is a flag "communication to non-Unicode system", if I set this flag. Will non-unicode message format be the communication to the target system.
Also, if I have a non-unicode sender system to a SAP instance that is Unicode, are there any settings I need to make so SAP can accept the non-Unicode data? Or will it handle it straight away.
Thanks
