Hi Friends,

I've been assigned to an Upgrade Project (from 4.6 to ECC 6.0) .Can anybody tell me

what is unicode conversion?

when is it needed?

why is it needed?

How is it done?

Unicode is the universal character encoding, maintained by the Unicode Consortium. This encoding standard provides the basis for processing, storage and interchange of text data in any language in all modern software and information technology protocols.

Hi,

Upgrade from non-unicode to Unicode at that time u r programs are not supported,so u must cover programs to unicode.Then only they r compatable.

when is it needed?

Upgrade from non-unicode to Unicode at that time u r programs are not supported .At that time this conversion is needed.

How is it done?

Using Tcode UCCHECK. U can convert programs into Unicode.

I have never done an upgrade that required unicode conversion but I have found a link that looks like it will be of great help.
