Transport Request

Hi Guys,

I have a transport request which has 10 programs for a project. Program ZABC is in my transport. This program is also needed by another ABAPer to make some urgent changes because of some production issue. How to go about it. Can I release ZABC from my transport, so that other programmer can change it. Then I need to incorporate his changes to my version. Please guide in this situation.

If the request isn't released, change the owner of the task to the other user and after he mades the changes change the owner back and release the request.

You don't have to release anything.

When the other user try to edit the code a popup will appear, that will notify him that a new task will be added to your change request since the object is included in your CR.

I will advise you not to release the request, ask the other abaper to create a Task for this program under your Transport request, else you can also add him as a user into your transport request. Now when he will make changes the program will added in his task under your transport request. once he is done check the transport request for consistency, and you are good to go. His code will also travel with your transport request. If you release the Request now it will have the snapshot of the current code and when you move it will go with the code which is going to be changed. So instead of moving two transport requests, let your friend complete the coding and then you release it and move the code in one go.

When he tries to modify that program it will ask him to create the task under your request as it is with you.

Let me create the task under your request and do the changes. You can release the request after the modifications.

hi go to the se09give the user name of him to whose request is to be transported> choose modified request(uncheck released)> choose display-->put the cursor on the task of the program choose change owner or f5 button then will ask for the user name to be transported so give your user name-> do the change on the request also..

Thanks Guys for your reply. I forgot to mension that my transport will go in production in JULY, but the other ABAPer's changes will go in production in APRIL. Please let me know what shoud I do in this scenerio.

hi check this..

your transport request will go to the prod in july means no need to release it now ....because the guy will have to change it before your release..so it is better to use by the change owner(f5) in se09..
