Hi,

when ever u save any object in the packages

other than $tmp

it will ask you to create a request number

or assign an existing one.

there will be an option to create the request number

click that and give any meaning full description....

it will generate the number

which will look like

EDDK955566

where EDD is the system id

k is differentiator

number is some sequence number

aslo it will create

EDDK955567 as the child request number

regards,

Venkatesh.

Hi Sunil,

When you create a new object say, a report program, database table etc, when you save it for the first time, it will open a pop-up window 'Create Object Directory Entry'.

You have to specify a package (which you have to create in SE80) and then click on 'Save'. It will now open a new window for Transport Request. Click on the button 'Create Request' (F8). It will again open a new pop-up. Give short description for TR and click on 'Save' button. It will come back to the previous window. Click on 'Continue'. Now if you save the object, it will be saved under the newly created TR.

If you need to create a TR for the existing object, you have to click on menu Goto->Object Directory Entry. Click on Change icon (F6). Then you can assign a package and the other steps are the same.

Reward points if useful.

Regards

Vidhya
