Hello,
I have made some changes to a report & assigned to a Transport Request T1.
But I dont want to release the Transport Request T1 & I am not going to do that.
Now I like to make some changes to the same report in another Transport request T2.
Is it possible to do like that ?

Hi,
Though you have different clients for development you ccan make changes only in the client where you have created the program and you can only release the request from the client where you have created the program. If you want you can check it.
For Eg:
Suppose you have created your program in client1 and created a request now if you want to release this request you have to relase from client1 only you can go to cleint2 and release. It is the same in case of changes made in your program.
So,Goto T1 transport request , delete the entries from it, you can also delete the request you have created. Delete them all by placing the cursor on the respective.
Now when you try to save the report it will again ask for the request. Now you save under the new request T2.
Hope i am clear.
Reward points if helpful.

Hi,
Yes you can.But do not forget to transaport both the requests while transporting the object to other system.

Goto T1 transport request , delete the entries from it, next the tasks in it and finally the transport request. Delete them all by placing the cursor on the respective.
Now save the report under the new request T2.

Hi,
Yes you can do that. But when transporting this object make sure that you transport T1 first and then T2.If you transport T2 first and then T1 the changes what you have done in T1 will get overwritten by changes that you have done in T2.So,it is always better to maintatin the same sequence while transporting the objects.
It is not advisable to delete or leave the transport requests idle as there will be no consistency in the Dev w.r.t the Production server. For your info Transport Requests helps us to keep track of the changes that are done to an object.
Revert if you have any queries.

Hi,
You cannot save one object in two different transport request at a same time. If you want to save the object in different request then either you need to release the first request or delete the object from the first request.

I like to make this issue little bit clear.
Transport request T1 is in client1 & not yet been released & I dont want to release.
But I want to create T2 in client 2.
Change mode is not allowing me in client 2.
Its giving me a message that " T1 belongs to different client "
How to proceed with this.

Hi,
Just to make your doubt clear.
You can not make the changes in lot many clients. Generally system is set in such a way that only one client is open for development. Also report is client independent so why you want to make changes in different client?

Hi,
If you open the object in different client which is assigned to transport request T1, You will get the message that the "object belongs to the different client". At this point of time... You can only display the object in the client2. and any changes if allows it asks for the new transport request T2.
So, I guess you should change the transport object from one client to another client (SE10) and you should be owner of that object in the client. Then you can transport the object.

I have made the changes which is not assigned only for the Testing.
Now I like to make to do the changes in the other client which is opened for the Development.
But thr TR T1 in testing client is not allowing me to make the changes for the same report in the development client.
When I try to delete the Tr its giving me a message like " Tr cannot be deleted because it contains some Locked objects "
How can I proceed ?

Hi,
Go in SE09, delete your object first, then task and then the request. If it ask 'Object is locked.. do you want to delete then click on 'YES''. Request will get deleted and you can then save the object in another request.

Hi,
Se01----->Give your req no. Place the cursor on the report name & select the 'Delete' Icon. Press Enter for any warning mesages. It will ask you 'Delete entey from obj list' Select Yes. Please note if required this version of the source may be retrieved from version management ( You just need to know the req no for that ). OR Alternatively just 'release' the request from development by placing the cursor on the request click the 'Truck' Button , First for the innermost request & then for the main request. BUT DO NOT PULL THE REQUEST IN QUALIRT CLIENT so that it will remain in the queue of quality & may be 'pulled' any time it is required in quality. I hope this helps,

Hi,
For deleting the request ,first unlock the object thru:
goto SE03->Unlock objects->specify request no->f8.
then go with deleting the request.

But the isuue is I have released all the Task in the Transport request T1.
So I cannot delete the task & correspondingly the Transport request T1.
How to proceed with this ?
‎2007 Oct 03 8:16 AM
Hi,
If you have already released T1, then dont worry. Simply include all the modified objects in T2 and proceed.
Ensure that while releasing the TR's you release in the same order T1 followed by T2.

I have not released thr TR, but I have released only the task.
How to proceed with this ?
‎2007 Oct 03 10:01 AM
Hi,
You can simply do one thing. Release the request T1.
And do the actual changes in request T2 and release both T1 and T2 to the target system
