A transport request contains program id, object type and the objects included under the request.

what is the relationship that exists between these 3 parameters ? (OR)

how are they inter linked with each other ?

Hi Ramya,

The program ID (PGMID) is part of the object type .

For Eg.

R3TR - name for Repository objects and Customizing objects

LIMU - subobject of Repository objects

LANG - language-specific part of object

The second object type

Object Type

An object is uniquely identified by its program ID (PGMID), object type and object name.

The SAP System differentiates between complete objects and their component subobjects.

Complete objects usually have an object directory entry, and can include subobjects that can be transported separately. Complete objects are indicated by the PGMID R3TR.

Subobjects do not have their own object directory entry. Subobjects have the PGMID LIMU.

Example

The complete object R3TR PROG includes the following subobjects, among others:

LIMU REPS

LIMU REPT

LIMU DYNP

Use the F4 Help to display examples of types of complete objects and subobjects.

The Third one is the name of the Object.

HI Ramya,

here relationship between three parametes,

program means type of the develoment server.

object type means like table , fucntion group , report,

objects means : it contains devalopments name like report name or table name.

Hi!

A transport request is a container. You can assign a modified object to any transport request, so the link between is that what kind of object do you want to get into the same transport request. So there is no such relation between them.

Of course some customizing transactions can create more objects.

Check out tables E070 and E071 also.
