In tran. VA02, After giving order number and press enter..it shows that "consider subsequent documents" . So, it means subsequent documents are ther.

After when I click on Item configuration and press ENTER, i wnt to change char.value from RED to GREENand when I am saving it showing Information message "Item 20 can no longer be automaticaly deleted". Because of this information an extra material is created for the order.

I don't want this extra material to be created.? How should i do this.?

Chris,

You are getting the "subsequent doc" message b/c a delivery (at a minimum) has been created against the sales order.

I am unclear what you are changing in Item Config. Please clarify.

i am selecting material and click on item configuration. In characteristic Value Assignment, Here I am changing characteristic value.

When i try to change this value..and press enter and Save, a information message is appearing " Item 20 can no longer be automatically deleted".

Because of this Information Message, an extra material is created for this order.

What I want to do is, I need to change characteristic value. In this case a new one is created with that name which I dont want.

I think this is what is happening.

As from the message it is clear there are subsequent documents for the sales order. And for an order it would be Delivery document, that means the items in the order might have been delivered. So, when you modify the material, its assuming that you want to add a new line, add a line item to the order. You cannot change the configuration of a material which is already delivered, right?
