I activated my trace then I have ran the application then I deactivated my trace. I have done this over the last week. My problem is that in my BW dev the trace period does not reset so the logs go back to my first trace log. The logs now contain thousands of records. How do I have this rest this for each time I run the trace?

When you display your trace, do you not get a popup where you can restrict the trace period?

When I change the date and time I get an error as below.
I tried each step below with no luck. I am stuck with old display parameteres.
File end of performance trace file detected -> See long text
Message no. 0S161
Diagnosis
The file end was detected while opening the performance trace file. This
can be because no trace records were written or because an error
occurred.
System response
After the message, the system continues processing.
Procedure
Check whether ther should have been any trace records at all.
If trace records must exist, call transaction ST05 - "Performance
Analysis" on the initial screen - enter the OK code "CLOSE", and choose
Then try displaying the performance trace again. If this is not
possible, even after a new recording of the trace, contact the
adminsitrator responsible.
Procedure for System Administration
Create a new trace file using transaction ST01. To do this, enter
"ADMIN" in the OK Code. After choosing "Enter", the system displays the
"Parameters of the SAP Trace" screen, where you should choose the
"Change" pushbutton to create a new trace file.
Alternatively, you can delete the trace files listed on this screen
using operating system resources.

I take it that the start and end parameters don't correspond to the time you started and stopped the trace. What are they?

When I activate it each time the selection is stuck on 09/04/2007 and time equal to 14:30:02. When I try to change it I get an error each time. I tried changing it to 9/10/2007 today.
