TR not imported

Hi all ,

the follwing error " The name   does not start with a letter. Please check"   comes when my TR is imported to IPS from IPQ .

It works fine in IPQ , I dont how to resolve , am capturating the translations for all objects ( data elements , domains etc) in the TR from the tcode SLXT  . Please do suggest what can be done ...

Hi Shiv,

Two questions,

Is it an error or a warning?

Looking at the log messages immediately before the one you quote, does the object whose translation you are transporting already exist in the destination system?

I suspect the translation transport contains the text for objects than have not yet been imported into IPS.

Thats an error message , Am unable to insert image as some browser issue over here . And After looking into log messages am posting this , not simply to waste any ones time .

I asked because whenever I've see this message in the past in a translation transport it has only ever been a warning.  Apologies if my attempts to help you was taken as an accusation of time wasting.

If you read my entire reply you may want to pursue the idea that the error may be caused by the original object for the translation not being in the destination system.  Or not, up to you.

Hi Shiva,

Not sure I understand your question exactly, but, SAP naming conventions require that object names start with a letter. Maybe when you are doing the translate an unrecognised character is coming in.

If I am wrong please can you provide more detail.
