text table and diff.. between tcode se11 and se12

can anyone say what is about text table and d/b se11 & se12

Have you tried running SE11 and SE12 and seeing what the difference is?

Dear Vishnu

Text table is just a flat fle like CSV for Tab delimited.

Se11 Is used to create modify and display Where as

Se12 is exclusively used for display

SE11 - is used for creating , Editing and deleting the tables, structures, data types etc.....

but in,

SE12 - is only used for viewing ....

Hai,

Text table is also a database table which has the fields for example carrid, language key and the description.

if suppose u need to provide the user in f4 help about what a particular carrid mean. u shud genarate a text table for tht and create a foreign key relation for the carrid field with the field in ur text table. and when u get the screen for establishing the foreign key relation u can observe in the bottom 3 radio buttons

types of foreign key fields like:

No key fields/candidates

Key fields/candidates

Key fields of a text table

so just select key fields of a text table radio button.

now this table is called a text table for the table in which u have carrid field.

Now coming to ur other question.

se11 -- in this transaction u can create, modify and display a database table.

se12 -- in this transaction u can only display a database table.

SE11 we can <b>create display cahnge objects </b>

SE12 we can <b> display </b> the objects only .
