technical spec preparation

Hello Experts ,,,,please tell me how to write a techinical specification for the program.please send me some links on what are the things to be considered in writing techinical specification.is technicalspecification is written by seeing the function specification or by seeing the program which we had developed?please tell me the process.

a technical specification is written after receiving a func spec and before writing codes!!

Hi Madan,

A technical specification is a document which makes the required functionality clearer to the developer. A technical specification details in techincal terms about the things that are to be done by a developer.

Generally the organization for which we work, would follow a certain template for TS and FS. So the person who designs the Tech spec would go according to the template of the respective document. Sometimes, client also comes up with his own templates and forces upon the service provider to follow that. In such case we follow their template.
