Tablespaces in SAP

Hi,

I was made to understand that there is only two tablespaces in SAP - one for data and the second one for Index. Can we have more than two tablespaces?

Hi manjula,

Yes, you can add whatever custom tablespaces you want. As a matter of fact, this is a recomendation from SAP. If you have VERY large tables, they should be on tablespaces of their own.

There are a couple of different scenarios:

1. Large custom tables that need a seperate tablespace (in case you don't want to keep them in PSAPUSERxx).

2. Large SAP tables that you want to manage seperately.
