Hi Experts !

apart from entering data into table maintenance generator through assigned tranaction to it , can I add or delete field in table maintenance generator by tranaction assigned or it is possible only through se11. plz tell me the procedure for adding or deleting fields in table maintenance generator .

Good doubt..,

Its not possible to create fields from TMG...

we can create from SE11 only....

And one more thing....

after generating TMG.. if you done any modifiactions.. to the table...,

The TMG wiil not works...

Some times it table moves into dump while you tries to cretae new entries..

You know why its happens, because the structure handling in the function group for this table maintanance Generator was changed...

For this reason we have to agian create new TMG..., by deleting old one...

Hi,

fields can not be added or deleted in sm30 through table maintenance generator. it can be done only through se11.

you can make changes only by SE11.

If you have generated the TMG and you want to change the table than you have to give the reason to change and again have to generate the TMG.

It's impossible to delete or add field from TMG, you only can go through se11 to delete or add field.

Hi Ranjina,

Table maintainance generator is used to add/delete/modify record in table but you cannot modify the structure of table using table maintainance generator. You have to modify the structure of table using se11. Using table maintainance generator you can populate the values of some fields based on other fields for this you need to modify the module pool of table maintainance generator.
