Table maintenance Doubt

Hi SAP GURUS,

I have created a table and moved into QA.

Later i have created a table maintenance under new request(transport) and moved into QA with func group zf1.

Now iam deleting the table maintenance in DEV under new transport(say devk1) i.e with function group zf1.

and i want to create a new table maintenance for the same table and i am doing this under new transport say DEVK2

with new func group zf2.

Iam doing this because there is something wrong in function group.

Now i have 2 questions.

1)What are the things that i have to do after deletion of first table maintenance i.e with zf1,i did go to utilities -database utility-activate and adjust database table , then activated the table also.

can i now go ahead and create new table maintenace with function group zf2? or is there anything else that i need to do in between the deletion and creation of new table maintenance.

2)Iam saving the deletion of table maintenace under request devk1 with function group zf1

and creating a new table maintenance under request devk2 with new function group zf2.

the table maintenace with function group zf1 which iam deleting already exists in QA.

Now if transport only DEVK2(not transporting devk1 --imp) does it overwrites the function group zf1 with zf2.

Thanks in advance.

Swathi

<b>ANS</b>

YES, Usually I always delete the Old screen and then again create view with new function group and also create screen . in this way it assigned all the object in new request .

If you transport your new request, with new function group and object . It’ll work fine .

Hope this’ll give you idea!!

<b>P.S award the points.</b>

Good luck

Hi Saquib Khan,

for your first answer

YES, Usually I always delete the Old screen and then again create view with new function group and also create screen . in this way it assigned all the object in new request .

I used the delete icon on table maintenance screen so it deletes everything right i.e screen by itself and while creating a new one i used create screen numbers followed by propose screen numbers .so it shouldnot be a problem right?

For your second answer,

You said

If you transport your new request, with new function group and object . It’ll work fine .

but when i created the new table maintenance i checked the object in devk2 it has

2 things

1) object directory entry

2)function group (zf2)

But when i went back and checked the transport for table maintenace that i created initially i.e with func group zf1 i fuound 3 objects

1)function group

2)table contents

3)defination of a maintenance and transport object.

Please clarify on this.

It should create definition , when you click create it asks for the request . It should’ve Definition as well as function group .

you can transport the number of entries after creating view go to SM30 give table name "select all entries " and then click transport .it’ll include the entries in transport .

Another tip, you can also create the missing transport entries in your new request . Just double click your sub request and create entry and copy the same object with same entries in to the new one in SE09.

Pl..award the points .!!

Thanks

Hi Swathi ,

U have to get 3 entris for a table maintenance , one for FG /maintenance Screen / table entries in TDDAT, TVDIR. So better to release first TP request and generate maintenance Screen in expert Mode.

and check the TP objects in FG program.
