Table maintainance Generator

Hi experts,

I am creating table maintenance, for my custom table

But when I am entering function group name, its not allowing me to enter my 24 char long function group name. Is there any restriction on function group name length? IF its so then how I was able to create 24 char length function group ?

Hi,

Goto SE37 , from there

1) Choose Goto --> Function groups --> Create group.

2) Specify the function group name and a short text.

3) Choose Save.

If u r allowed to create Function Group with 24 chars then u can enter this name in table maintenance generator..

I think u have mistypes the function Group name..

First create a Function group by going to SE80.

Your function group name may contain upto 26 characters...

Make sure to activate Function Group before using it..

though ur able to create a 24char function group, in SE11 for table maintenance generatot u can enter only 16char function group name. Its limit is 16char.

so u need to create a 16char function group vai SE37 and use the same in Table maintenance generator through SE11.

You can go to table maintenance generator by ->

SE11-> Give table name -> Utilities -> Table Maintenance Generator -> Fill Function Group Name..

I found that... u can use fucntion group with maximum length of 16 in table maintenance generator.

I was able to use Function Group of length LE 16 for table maintenance generator...

but u cant use function group having length greater than 16.. you can try..

but u can use fucntion group pkg of length more than 24..

I used it. Go to table maintanance generator & check technical info for function group field (struc. TVDIR - FUNCT_POOL) that is of length 26.
