Table Count

Hi,

I had received the following message from support team.

"We have seen stome strange anomalies in the data counts in the MARC tables. Yesterday, we counted records meeting a certain criteria in MARC in all environments:

Today, the counts are:

QAS had 498,919

DEV had 9,682,228

PRD had 504,230

We believe the counts of approx 500,000 are “correct” data.

What has happened in QAS between? Why is DEV so high?

**********************************************

I am not sure where I can find out this information and reason for this issue. If any idea please tell me.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Srini

I don't see why this is a problem. MARC is the plant information for a material. In production you will have the latest up to date material-plant information. In QA, you may not have exact data as in production as QA is typically copied over from production periodically. This data may be what it used to be in production when they last copied. Also, during testing in QA someone might manually extend some materials to plants and that may add more records there.

Development is development and some one might have run a conversion program over and over again during unit testing and so you see so many entries.

I don't see this as a problem and in reality if your production, QA and DEV will not have similar data. I don't know why they are comparing data like this.

Go to SE16, enter MARC for the table and continue to the next screen. Now there should be a button(Number of Entries) on the application toolbar which you can click to get the total number of records.

Yes, on that same screen you can click the "Execute" button. This will display all the records of the table(depending on Max No Hits) at the bottom of the screen. You can enter selection here which will filter the data.
