Start SUM in export preparation

Dear experts,

we're planning to go live Unicode and EhP8 1 week later. We can't use CUUC, due to various reasons.

Is there auf way to prepare the upgrade beforehand without harming the UC conversion? E. g. starting SUM until downtime preparations?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Daniel,

during a Unicode Conversion the new system will be built from scratch and the content of the database will be imported. Afterwards you have to do some postprocessing steps to setup a working system again.

I would not run SUM in parallel, because the SUM collects system information and saves it.

What you can do in order to prepare your upgrade is to carefully check SAP Note 2318321 in order to avoid the lose of objects.
