Hi Spart,
Standard texts are used to make the maintenance easier.. They can be changed centrally..
Suppost that a comapny name changes and the system have 1000 SAP Script print forms that needs to be changed, If the name is added by Standard text, you can change it at one place and it will be reflected everywhere..
Also, standard texts can be maintained in multiple languages, so you can use them in any language you want..

For example,say that you have some form in your business which has a section with a bunch of legal stuff, you can store this legal junk as standard text and simply include it in the form at runtime. Then if it ever changes as legal stuff does, you just have to maintain the standard text, and not the form. Also this provide reuseibillity across forms, so say that you had 5 forums which used this same legal stuff, you change the standard text one place, it is then reflected in all forms using it.
