Hi Experts,
I have some questions:
1. How to implement the OSS notes in std. SAP program?? While coding wht are the factors we need to consider to implement OSS notes??
2. One question regarding Size category?? While setting technical attributes of a table we provide size category. Size category is nothing but how many records can be hold by a table. Suppose I choose 0 then range for 0 to 20,000. If i enter 20,001 record then table gets expand dynamically & adds that record.
My question is then why there are various ranges for size cateroy i.e. 0-9 (i.e. in ECC 6.0). If the table expand dynamically then wht are the use of assigning size catergory 1-9. I will always assign 0 as table gets dynamically extend based on no of records?
3. When the at line-selection & at user-command events gets triggered.

Hi
Initially we need to allocate some memory space to table thats why we need to choose category.
In interactive reports we are using thse events
at line-selection
When user clicks any line on output of report then it triggers
At user-command events
when user click on PF-status buttons or like pushbuttons then this evevt triggers.

Aditya

Hi
AT LINE-SELECTION : IT IS USED TO HENDLE SECONDARY LISTS
AT USER-COMMAND : TO PROVIDE OUR OWN GUI ( PUSH BUTTONS ETC) AT OUTPUT

About size Category
The Size Category field enables you to specify the maximum number of records you expect this table to hold. You are setting the size of the initial extent and next extents, as well as the maximum number of extents allowed for this table. An extent is the amount of space allocated for a table. The initial extent is the amount of space allocated for a table when it is created. If a table uses up that space, another extent will be allocated, causing the table's space to be extended.
The size categories are always 0 through 4, but the number of expected records in each size category will change with every table based on the length of a row. Choose an appropriate category based on the maximum number of records you expect that table to hold.
When choosing a size category, be generous. In R/3 it is much better to over-estimate than underestimate this parameter. If the size category is too small and the table grows larger than the initial allocation, the RDBMS allocates another extent. Secondary extents reduce performance and require a table-space reorganization to remove. Reorganizations can be very difficult to perform on a large database, especially one that requires high availability. It is much easier to reduce an overly generous size category than it is to increase an underestimated one
At line selection
trigerred by pick function, during double clicks or by shift +pick function
usercommand
triggered using user defined function codes

Hi
OSS are online sap support notes. These notes are available online for solving critical problems in sap system. We may use the already existing notes or may add our own quarries.
In order to apply any OSS note, you have to be authorized by your company and be assigned an OSS ID and password.
For any SAP standard program modification, you are required to login to OSS and request for a repair program Access key.
Access the SAP Support Portal:
Keys and Requests
Request license key
Follow the Steps 1 to 5 of the License keys for SAP Business Suite
Follow this step to obtain the Program Access key:
Menu Path: System -> Services -> SAP Service (Transaction code OSS1)
Login in with your OSS ID and Password
Click the Registration button
Click Register Object
Double click R/3 Value Contract
Fill in the Object Registration for Installation:
For e.g.
PGMID/Object/Name: R3TR FUGR MIGO
SAP release: 46C
Finished, click the Register button
Select the Key number and use the Copy and Paste short key to copy the Access key
You are now able to modify the SAP standard program.
Finished the modification, do remember to transport it to the production system after all the necessary testing.
data base tables are JEST and JCDS.
regards,
venkat.
