Hi All,
Can you please explain me the importance of Solution Manager in an ABAPer's perspective? In which phases of Solution manager, does an abaper come into picture?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
It's basically a centrol Monitoring system which is useful for all Basis related transactions. for ABAper's Solution Manager is of no use.
Reward if useful.

Hello,
As per my understanding, ABAPer need not to work on Solution Manager, except for creating transport requests. It is a wonderful tool by SAP but only for BASIS guys.
In our project, we even don't create the Transport request so we need not to login to Solution Manager(SM). We request our Basis coordinator for Transport and they create the same for us.
The benefit of SM to us: we need not to maintain the sequence of transports when we will move the developments to QA / Production system. SM takes care of all the transports and there sequencing. So no need to maintain an excel file for dependencies & sequence of transport requests for integration. Thanks to SAP
Hope I make some sense here

Hi,
To my knowledge, solution manager can also be used in support projects to maintain issues and directly raise OSS notes to SAP.
It will be also helpful to generate reports for milestones in a project used by project management authority.
