SO document flow status

Does anyone know when will an SO be set to completed? Is it when a delivery is made?

You can use VBUK,VBUP tables for the same.Check this for more information on it.

depends on the SO type. Some SO's need to be billed before they're closed, others are closed after goods issue.

You can find the status in tables VBUK (for header status) and VBUP (for item status).

It comes down to are all items on the sales order completed, doesn't it? Technically, sales orders don't close as I recall, but by looking at the contents of VBUK and VBUP tables, and status fields that would apply in your environment, when the all go to 'C', or when they all go to 'C' for every item, then the sales order would be 'complete'.
