Smartform template field width changes automaticly.

Hi,

For an invoice output I need to have a template with several columns.  The last column width needs to be 1 mm ( = 0,1 cm).  This is because the template will have a black frame,  and that 1 mm column will be empty, to prevent the text to be paste to the frame.

When I create the columns the system will accept the 1 mm,  it will be activated and it works.  Only when going back into the template, the width of the last column will be automaticly put to 1 cm, and another column will get 0,90 cm less.

This means that whatever I change in that template of the smartform after activating,  the last column will now get the 1cm width. (automaticly given by the system).

Can any of you let me know if there is another solution for this?

thanks

Katrin

Hi Anuruddh,

That is the issue I wanted to explain.   I change it manually to  0,10cm,   but then the system turns it back to 1 cm.

In my attachement  comulmn 7 used to be 1,90cm  and 8  0,10cm.  After activation,  the system puts it back to 1cm and 1 cm.

Hi,

I'm unable to reproduce the issue you describe (I'm on SAP Basis 702, SP 11) and I'm trying to regularly implement OSS notes related to Smartform editor bugfixes. Could you tell please what is your SAP Basis release and support package? There are some quite recent bugfixes related to table/template painter, but none that fits the symptoms you describe.

Also, does the issue persist if you try to change the units from cm to, say, mm?

Could you please create a small test form with which you can reliably reproduce the issue in your system, export it as xml and attach it here?

Other than that, the text margins are best implemented using appropriate paragraph formats - not tiny-miny "dummy" table/template cells...

cheers

Hi Janis,

I tried to reproduce but it seems to work fine now.   I guess it has to do with different steps in a row.  This smartform I'm working on  for weeks now  and I was scared to touch the templates. Anyway now it seems to be ok,  if the issue comes back I will try to remember the different steps and let you know.   FYI,  this customer is on SAP Basis 740, SP 0005.

If there is  another/ better  way to have a frame around the 'template' in the output,  and not having the data pasted to the frame, I would love to know.

thanks for now,

Katrin.

Hi,

I meant these attributes in Paragraph Format of Smartstyle:

Of course, if the border width increases (to 2 mm, for example) the margin settings in Paragraph Format will need to be adjusted as well. But the adjustment in such case would need to be made for tiny extra column as well, and I think adjusting paragraph margins is easier and "cleaner" than to try to re-align values using "dummy" columns.

cheers
