Short text problem in Data Dict.

Hi Experts,

I have one query. I had created one DBTABLE ZABC in DE language. Under that table I had created few data elements ZD1, ZD2 respectively in DE language. I had maintained short text, field label & all those thing in DE language. Activated the data element as well as DBTABLE ZABC.

If I login in EN language & trying to see the table ZABC then I am not able to see the short text for ZD1, ZD2 data elements. Even If I double click on data element ZD1, ZD2 then each & everything is maintained properly but still i am not able to see the text for that data element ZD1 & ZD2 in ZABC table in EN logon.

Any suggestion will be appriciated.

Hello patel ,

You maintained the text in DE language , but not in EN ,

in the menu GOTO -> Translation -> select the source lang n Target lang , then give the EN text there,

then you will b able to see the text in EN lang.

Translation is not maintained so you are not able to see those....

Since you created the table and data elements in DE language, all the texts were also in DE language. To get texts in EN language, you must explicitly translate them from DE to EN.

Go to the menu option Go to -> Translation in the data element screen to do that.

SAP had maintained data in different languages,

It does not translate the data from deutch to english or from one language to other,

so u have to maintained it for english lanuage too.

just do one thing when u login in EN ,just open the table in change mode and add short text.

it'll display.

Hi,

You can use the transalation method to solve out your problem

GOTO -> Translation -> select the source language and Target lang , then give the EN text in target lang.

After that it will, be transalated to EN lang.
