Set field of screen mandatory WITHOUT changes on sourcecode - possible?

Hi all,

is it possible to set a field mandatory without making a modification (neither source nor screen)? I am not allowed to do this. Are there transactions in which I can put in program name, screen and fieldname to make this filed mandatory? There is no customizing available to change field behaviour. Have anyone an idea?

It is SAP ABA 620.

For REPORTS: You can do it by using the Variant. While saving the variant select the check box "Required Field" and save the variant. When ever you select the variant, that field would be mandatory.

You can set this variant at the DEFAULT variant for the report in the transaction maintenance. You can restrict the direct execution of the report without the variant by selecting the "Start Using Variant" in the attribute of the program.

For Dialog programs: you can do it by the Screen Variants.

Dear Naimesh,

thx for your answer. Unfortunately it is not possible to restrict it by with variants. It is a whole transaction. The screen I would like to change is a pop up. I start a transaction XYZ, then i navigabe a view screens. On one screen is a button to fill in additional information. These screen is a pop up.

Perhaps anyone have an other idee.

Please provide transaction details.I think we can do it in SPRO if its a standard one.

Hi,

its an add-on. No SAP standard transaction. There is no SPRO entry. I hoped that there are SAP possibilities to say ... please make field "number1" of screen 1200 of report "zmyreport" mandatory. As I said, no customizing.

I know that some transactions exist for such requirements. I thought it was SFAC or simular. But I don't know if this is possible by this transaction, and I don't know how this transaction is to use. But I think thats not possible, cause my field is not assigned to any fieldgroup.
