SE55 - Dynpro Options

Hello everybody,

I am looking for a possibility to set some dynpro options for the creating of maintenance dialogs in transaction SE55, especially:

• Dynpro size (it is a real nuisance that with PC screens getting wider and wider, the default dynpro width is still 83 characters)
• Switch off dropdown lists for fields with fixed domain values

I know that I can modify the screen after generating it with Environment --> Modification, but I want to omit this step because it seems to me time-consuming and unnecessary.

So what I am looking for is some possibility to permanently save such default values. Any suggestions?

Hi Martin,

there is a small toolset under the menu Environment-->Modifications , but I never completly understood how it works. Its pretty old. Check it out!

thank you for your reply, but that is exactly what I do not want to do: to modify the screen everytime when I generate or re-generate a maintenance dialog. I am looking for a possibility to permanently change the default values for screen generation, so they are applied automatically upon generating a screen.

Hi Martin,

within this include MSVIMTOP you can find default values for dynpro generation (constant values). May be something is possible to change via Enhanncement here e.g. Table contol size ...

Field attribute always coming from domain values.

Thank you, that was exactly what I was looking for: it is the include MSVIMTOP and it is the constant maxcolns in this include, which contains the value 83 as Maximum columns. When I change it to 180, SE55 generates wider maintenance views.

Only drawback: it is a modification.
