Hi,
we currently run Accessibility tests on one of our components. These tests shall ensure that visually impaired people can access our graphical screens using a Screen Reader, an external piece of software that reads out loud text on the computer screen.
The tests identified two screens with multiple ALV grids. Each of these grids was provided with a title, which is displayed correctly in between the grid's toolbar and content area. These titles should be read aloud by the screen reader so the user knows which screen area he is currently manipulating.
However, the screen reader ignores the titles and does not announce the grids at all.
I have checked various resources on Accessibility. They only recommend providing ALVs with a title to enable screen reading and do not mention the possibility that the title could be ignored.
Has anyone of you ever came across a similar incident and can suggest how to deal with this?
Best wishes,
Florian Hoffmann

I haven't had to deal with accessibility personally. However, have you tried raising a message with OSS?

Steve.

Yes, we have an OSS message on this topic, which I just passed on to SAP basic services. Anyway, chances were somebody already stumbled about this issue.
