Screen Painter

Can you please help,

I am new in ABAP, So I am trying to create a screen but now the problem is that when I try to change the attributes it gives me an error message "Place the cursor on a name that is not empty" and the options are greyed out.

The other problem is that, I am in the graphical layout editor but I cannot find the drag and drop options.

Can you please assist me.

Hi,

I the left end of the graphical painter, you find diiferent elements,

click on any of them and then click on the layout, you can use it in your screen.

On the left hand side there is nothing, I wish I could send you a screen print.

Hi,

Perhaps gui is not installed properly on your system.

Try to install a newer verion.

Update your SAPGui. I had the same problem.

By the way, did you check under Utilities->Settings->Screen Painter if the flag is set for 'Graphical layout editor'?

Yes I did set the Graphical Layout editor, If I want to reinstall the gui, How do I go about it?

Deinstall it completely via START->Control Panel->Add or Remove programs.

Make sure that you save your saplogon.ini which is stored in C:\WINDOWS first.

It contains your system entries for the SAPGui.

Then reboot and install the new version.
