Have you install the graphical layout editor when installing SAPgui. It is a component of the sapgui, but you need to check it on during installation. If this was not done, you need to run the installation again, and choose this under the development tools section.

Your local PC does not have the Graphical Screen Painter installed on it.

Contact your SAP Installation people or if you have the Client Install Disk... They/you need to re-stall the SAP GUI and add the Graphical Painter. It is not the default.

Mani,

As cited above -

"Contact your SAP Installation people or if you have the Client Install Disk... They/you need to re-stall the SAP GUI and add the Graphical Painter. It is not the default."

In your case, you must contact the person(s) that loaded the SAP GUI client software onto your PC. Tell them that they need to install the Graphical Screen Painter as well. This requires them to re-install the client software.

And no... this is client-side software ONLY. It will have NO effect on the SAP app/DB servers.

Don't forget the points for helpful answers.

hi,

This may be due two things

1) during installation they might not have selected the gui imnstallation.

2) before clicking layout go to utilities and click settings

trying unchecking the button graphical layout editor in screen painter tab.

This will allow to shift from one thing to other.

I feel the alphanumeric editor is easy to use, except for moving the buttons.

Let me know if you need regarding alphanumeric editor.

Thanks

Venki

Generally the SAP GUI will be in one of your common folders of your company folders.

try getting the path from some of the networking guys, who can tell u that..

Hi

U should ask the cd for installation to your basis administrator or try to download from sap but I believe you have an account to do this.
