screen painter not displaying

Hi all...

I am new to ABAP. I am working in IDES. I want to work with screen painter. When I goto screen painter, the screen painter is not displaying and it is telling like

' Graphical Layput Editor Not Available. Continue with Alphanumeric Editor ' ...

Now, What shoud I do in order to get the screen painter

There may be several reasons(Operating system, Remote connection, ports, rfc configuration( for this problem. Better ask to basis guys.

re-install sapgui complete.

Even I faced the same problem earlier. I approached the basis person and the problem was solved. He would assign some role to your user ID so that u will be able to open the graphical editor. So better approach the basis person.
