scanning barcodes

Hi,

I can develop smartforms using barcodes. But how do we read and print these barcodes.

Do we need any specific printers to print them and special scanners to read it?

When the barcode is scanned do we get the exact numeric value underlying it?

Pls suggest. Thanks!!

Hi,

You need to have a RF(Radio Frequency) Gun to read the Barcodes.

In ABAP dictionary there is structure to read the scanned barcode which can be translated to and pro.

how about the printer? can we use normal printer?

they are using third party scanner at the plant. When they scan this barcode will they get the same code as in SAP?
