Hello, After installing ABAP AS 751 SP02 I try installing SAPGUI for Java 7.40 rev 12 and get error Installation Failed: Failed to install native resource: Linux-lib.jar?

Installing on openSUSE Linux

JDK version 1.8.0_161 is installed by default.

Any advice please?

Thank You, Kay S

OK, I think we are getting somewhere.

The problem is, that you download the whole package of SAP Netweaver Developer Edition, that contain both server and client packages. Unfortunately, this archive consists of SAP GUI for MacOS and Windows. There is no file for Linux.

Now, when I understand the limitations (do I assume correctly that you don't have access to the SAP Support Launchpad?), what I can offer as a workaround is to download an earlier version of the SAP Netweaver Developer Edition -> 7.50 SP2.

I had a quick look and from what I can see there is SAP GUI for Linux:

You can download the software from SAP Store - I think you did the same with the previous release:

Please try this solution.

Hi,

Instead of creating the same question for the third time you should answer to the previous one.

Please paste the results of following command:

java —version

Also, please provide the exact file name of the SAP GUI.

Hi,

looks like you are trying to use SAP GUI for macOS on openSUSE.

Please download the correct package - change the MacOS to Linux.

Try this file: PlatinGUI740_13-20012039.JAR

Hello, thanks again but there is only PlatinGUI740_12-20012038.JAR in addition to the PlatinGUI740_12-20012037.JAR. Also I have noticed there is a file PlatinManual_12-20012039.zip but no PlatinGUI740_13-20012039.JAR to be found or seen. in all other downloaded folders from sap store. I am very much baffled. I downloaded from here:

I now get following error when installing, why is this so difficult??

Now we begin with the installation.
Be patient, this will take a while ...

I'm not sure what are you trying to do now.

If you just want to open the SAP GUI, go to the Client\JavaGUI directory and start PlatinGUI for Linux.

Hi I was reinstalling sap_netweaver_as_abap_750_sp02_ase_dev_edition_part1 on a fresh openSUSE Linux as before I was installing 751 version. But now I was getting errors as shown above, the SAP GUI for JAVA installed with no issues as advised by you, sorry for the confusion, I guess I'll have to brainstorm, thanks again.
