hi all,
i want to know how SAP has progressed/evolved, like what were the first version, what is the latest/current version...
actually i want to learn ECC 6.40 and i m using 4.6C.. so, i want to know what exactly is the difference between two..
so, can you please tell me what different versions are there and what is the difference between the two consecutive versions?
i m sure this must be available somewhere on SAP site itself, it will be great if you could provide me links.

This question gets asked week in, week out. Of course, if you bothered to search you would have found that out. In my opinion it is a pointless question...
I could give you all of the changes in the FI module between the two versions you mentioned and then you might never work on FI, so what's the point?!
If you know a bit about 4.6C you will understand it will be almsot impossible for someont to tell you exactly what the differences between the two versions are (although I'm sure a load of point hungry people will be along cutting and pasting rubbish and giving loads of links to random stuff.)
End of the day, the differences in the versions only become relevant if and when you have to work on a specific piece of functionality in the new version. If and when you do then you just figure out that bit. There is absolutely no point as an ABAPer trying to understand how SAP versions differ on the whole in my opinion, you should just concentrate on the specifics of your own work.
