SAP_USER PROFILE QUESTION

Hi Gurus,

I will be part of the system refresh from Prod to QA task this weekend. I don't want to create/modify users in QA (as they will be the same from prod) manually AGAIN. We do have a CUA model.

I've learned that I can export SAP_USER profile prior the refresh and add it as a transport after the refresh. This way I can keep all the users as they were prior the refresh.

My question is:

Would all the passwords be exported with the users as well????

Thank you,

Gustavo

Hi Gustavo,

Yes. Your understanding is correct. Refer the below notes:

SAP Note - 191207 - Client copy and central user admin

SAP Note - 399917 - CUA: Moving of a CUA via Client or System Copy

SAP Note - 355713 - User masters during client copy.

Raghu

It depends on how you are taking the back up of the user master data. If you check the profile SAP_* which are available for taking backup as a transport entry doesn't contain the USR02 entries. One example is that you need to manually unlock the user ids after the refresh and uploading the transport back ups.

Gustavo,

Put more simply, if you export SAP_USER from QA prior to your refresh and then re-import to QA post refresh, the passwords will be the same as they were when exported from QA.
