SAP R/3 Software

Hi Experts,

I know ABAP. I want to practice SAP at my home. I have SAP client software. I have High speed Internet. Can I install SAP server software from SDN. I know that we can connect server if we have client software. I dont know how can i do this. please help me doing this. doing this help will be appreciate.

Thanking you for your responce. But here I absorved that it is not SAP R/3,. It is SAP NW software. If you know SAP R/3 software please guide me. I need this very urgent. Thanking you...

Do you want to connect to a remote R/3 system over the internet from your home? If so, all you need is the SAPgui(client software), no need for a server on your end. First the remote system must be "open" in order for you to get to it via internet. The basis team should be able to provide you with the router string that you specify in the SAPgui logon pad.

If you just want to practice ABAP at home, you can use the Netweaver 2004s sneak preview, it does not include any of the R/3 modules, so no MM, PP, SD, etc. But the "basis" layer is there for you to develop custom ABAP programs, all of the technology layer is there, just no functional modules(MM, PP, etc). It is just like R/3 without the R/3(if that makes sense) You can develop practice programs against the "Flight Database", tables like SPFLI, SBOOK, etc.

So..... what is it that you really want to do?

Thanking you... I want to work with real tables from all functional areas like MM, SD, FI etc. What i have to do. I dont have SAP R/3 software. I have only client software. guide me if you have a solution...or if you know someone who can provide online server.

Ok, so you have SAPgui but no R/3 server to connect to. There is such a thing as the IDES system which contains a pre-configured system for testing/training. It does contain the R/3 modules, but I think that you will need a license from SAP to get it, meaning that you have to pay for it. Do you not have a companies R/3 system to connect to?

Hello,

I have downloaded Netweaver 2004s ABAP. I want to install it on Windows 2003 server. The question is, Does this new software have all the Tcodes, transport management, client copy, etc to practice R/3 administration? Does this new software have Oracle database?

SAP netweaver 04s SP9: Can I practice R/3 administration on this software?
