rubbish code in text file

hi,

i downloaded a txt file from 3rd party software and upload to sap. all country are ok except 1 country.

on first line, there is a character at the begining of the line :

锘?20:070511

it should actually be :20:070511.

this character only can be seen in debug mode. i tried to delete the line and type in manually in the txt file and reupload to sap;

change from ws_upload to gui_upload;

notepad save as utf-8 also cannot. unicode i do not think can use as will generate and become 1 long string.

what could be the cause and how to do away with it?

There are two ways you can handle this problem,.'

(the problem of unsuppoported char probable tab)

1> you can either edit the txt file directly

2> in urr program while trf data from file to workarea use substring..

1) i already said i deleted the line and typed in manually in the text file but still the same.

2) i know can remove the unsupported code in program but i need to find out the root cause.

If you want to find out root cause you willl have to address into the third party support persons, as the file is created not by SAP but another system

but may i know why only in debug mode can see the unsupported code whereas cannot see in notepad?

Hi,

Open the same in IE or word, may be Note pad cant recognize the ASCII file for that junk character.
