greetings,

I am developing a function module which returns the functional location class and its characteristics.As you know the functional location can contain a number of class and the class can contain different characteristics.My question is 'How can i output the details of the functional location in a readable manner in the rfc tables?'

Hi Jinesh,

Your RFC function module should return an internal table with the following sequence of fields..

1) Functional location name

2) Class name

3) Characteristics..

4) other characterisics and so on..

But when this internal table is filled the functional location and class will be repeated in some lines..

Hi Jinesh,

This doesn't matter.. if you want to display a report after the RFC call.. then you can display it properly by this sequence of fields.. the repetition of Functional location and the class name is to identify the values as these two columns will be the keys..

Otherwise.. you can take header item approach..

Take the internal table of type Text..

with fields tag and text..

When you get a new functional location, class combination, put 'H' in the tag and put the data in text.. and append the record to the table..

in the following records, leave the tag field blank and put characteristics in the data line..

But in any case the first approach is better..
