Hi colleagues,
In SE80 you are able to compare the revision of each method in the class.
I think in AiE you can only compare the whole class. Can we compare a method section only?
Why?
Sometimes you are working in a specific method only and you want to know how the method was changed over the time.
Comparison the whole class will results too many revisions.
Thank you and best regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,
good idea, we will think about a solution. We have similar requests in the editor to show only one method and not the whole class.
Currently it is not supported in Eclipse.
Regards,
Thomas.

Personally I like seeing the whole class. But a line or some way to visually hilight the beginning and end of methods a bit more would be great.

Of course, version comparison of whole class is absolutely a must feature .
I just need to have additional comparison for each method.
Thank you all, Steve

Hi Mike,
luckily this is something that we will provide with one of the next ADT client versions that you are able to highlight specific keywords in specific colors. With that you can highlight METHOD and ENDMETHOD sesctions. It is very convenient as my colleagues told me.

Thomas.

I'm really beginning to appreciate the customer side of agile development 🙂
At least, assuming you run some form of agile; there's no chance you guys could be working any other way and push out so much good stuff so quickly!

Hello,
I can also fully support this request. Version management on method level in ADT would help a lot!

Michael

Hi Michael,
I just a look on Java Tooling in Eclipse. They provide on top of the comparision dialog a small outline view where you can filter on specific methods. Looks like this is the way to go also for ABAP.

Thomas.
