Reset Password

Hi guys,

Any one can help me with this please ::

I wanna create user and give that user just autherization (su01) to rest the password just reset password not to create or delete users ?? any chance to do that . I tried with PFCG and SU02 but coudnt do it.

Hi-

If you couldn't find any profile in su02 for just resetting the password, you may create a new one to serve the purpose. And the Authorization objects it may contain may be S_TCODE and S_USER_GRP(User Master Maintenance: User Groups). And populate S_USER_GRP with activities you prefer, which may be just display access, lock/unlock, change and so, without including activities that may create/ delete Users.

Once the profile is created it can be transported to the production and assigned to the User which just allows Password reset.

yes by su02 and pfcg but couldnt find anything help .beacouse i need to disable change so in this case when user try to click on rest (shift+f8) password will have msg " you are not authrized ..." i just want user to able to rest the password.

Hi,

You can set the Authorisation Object S_USER_GRP values in the role as -

Activity 03, 05

User group in user master main *

By 05, that user can lock/unlock.reset password only. The user will be unable to create/change/delete users.

Okay once you get the message, go to SUIM which shall give you the parameters you require to reset the password. And if no profiles exists with those field values, you create a new one given only those filed values which can solve the issue.
