When you are on the selection screen just press savebutton

then it will ask youmto enter the variant nname and description then save it.

there is a second method also..

just go to GOTO tab in toolbar , there in variant select save as variant.

it will do.

There is even a third method! Just press Contorl and S on the selection screen...
