Hi to all,
I have some doubts Regarding
6. can it possible to run an call transaction program(in BDC) in background?if yes tell me the procedure?
8. what is synchronous and asynchronous update in BDC programming?
11. what is difference between basic type and idoc type?
12. what r the structured and indexed data types ?
13. give examples of some pooled and cluster tables ?

1. An implementation project is where SAP is to be implemented and will involve a number of fresh ABAP developments.
A support project is where SAP is already implemented and ABAP work will be in the form of changes or bug fixing to the existing code and minimal new developments.
2.& 3. All companies will use some kind of Standards for their documentation and all their documents will be in a predefined template format. There will be templates available for Technical Specifications, Unit Testing documents, etc etc, that you use to fill in the requied details.
4. Most of the MNCs are CMM level-5 atleast and all these Capability Maturity Models (CMM) are based on one of the SDLC (Software development life cycle) - life waterfall model for ex.
5. SAP is 3 tier architecture which means there are thre layers - Presentation, Application adn Database.
Presenetations i teh GUI installed on your computer, application are the programs and the data tables that these programs access is the Database Layer.
An ABAP program is used to access database.
6. Yes BDC programs can be called in background mode.
7. A session is created by the BDC program.Go To SM35 transaction and execute the session.
8.Synchronous updates is updating real time, at the time of execution of your progra, Asyncronous updates are carried out whenever there is a database commit.
9. iN real time you use Call Transaction, because it triggers the transaction at the time of execution of the program. The main difference is taht in BDC session, you cal schedule the program to run at a particular time (say every night) and the errored records are held in a session. so you can correct the errors and run the session for errored records again.
Where as in Call Transaction, messages are held in an internal table it_msgcoll and you need to process that.
call transaction 'VL02N' using it_bdcdata
mode 'N'
messages into it_msgcoll.
10. SAP Scripts and Smart froms are client dependant. The rest- Reports, Module Pools, Function Modules, RFC, BAPI, IDOC are all client independant.
Standard texts are client independant.
11. IDOC Type is nothing but Basic type - Like MATMAS03is IDOC TYPE. MATMAS is MEssage Type. IDOC Type will define the IDOC Strcuture. Message tYpe will define the data classification - like Material, Sales Order, etc.
13. Cluster Table - BSEG, BSEC ,BSED
Pool - T008, T009 etc
Go to table contents of DD02L and enter the required TABCLASS- it will give you the list of tables.
Phew!!!! hope you reqard points for so much typing!

Hi ,
Here are the answers to some of your questions..
7)We can create a background job in the transaction SM35, can schedule the job in SM36 and view the jobs in SM37.
😎 In synchronous update, suppose an error comes in between, then rest will still get updated. But in asynchronous update, it will stop once an error comes and will continue only when the error is fixed.
11)Basic types are those iDoc types which are provided by SAP. IDoc types are extended form of basic types.
This is done through the transaction WE30.
12) Structured data types include structure types, table types etc ( collection of elementary data types). YOu can refer from this link
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/90/8d7301b1af11d194f600a0c929b3c3/content.htm
13) There are three types of R/3 tables:
Transparent, Pooled, Cluster tables.
Transparent tables: Corresponding to a table definition in Data dictionary, there is a table in the database.
Pooled tables:Different tables which are not linked to each other with a common key can be combined into a Table Pool. The tables contained within this pool are called Pooled Tables. A table pool is stored in the database a simple table. The table's data sets contain, in separate fields, the actual key for the data set to be stored, the name of the pooled table and the contents of the data set to be stored.
Examples: T009 is a nice example
Cluster tables: Occasionally, several tables may be linked by a common key. The ABAP/4 Data Dictionary can also combine these tables into a single table. Each data set of the real table within the database contains a key and in a single data field, several data sets of the subsequent table for this key.
Example: BSEG.
