Regarding report execution using variant

Hello friends,

I m facing one problem on development client where i tried to execute report, it was showing me error as report can only be started with variant eventhough the report has selection screen having select option. i guess eventhough report can only be started with variant, i must have seen selection screen. I may be wrong .

please hepl me out.

Hi Prachi,

See i have been assigned to upgrade project. So as a part of my work, i need to test report both on old QA and on testing client also. Now there is a report when i executed it , it was showing me error as that report can only be started with variant eventhough that report has a code to display selection screen when executed.When i tried to execute the same report on test client, it was showing me the same error and the same report executed successfully ' with variant ' option provided on SE38 tcode . What i need to confirm is that the report should show me selection screen eventhough it can be executed with variant...Am i correct??? ..I may be wrong. Please give me suggestion

Hi Parag,

Please try to create a background job thru SM36 and execute thru SM37 tcodes for this report by providing variant name.

put the options accordingly so that you can execute the job immediately.
