1. what is the hot key while create search help

2. what is the dialog type dialog value with restriction.

3. what is the use of importing parameter checkbox.

1)The hot key permits the user to select an elementary search help from the collective search help directly in the input field with the short notation. The restrictions can also be entered directly in the dialog box for restricting values.

Letters and digits are allowed as hot key.

2) dialog value with restriction will show a dialog which will help you to restrict or filter the search help value is the list is high.

3) import parameter gets its values from is defined when the search help is attached to the corresponding field of the input template

import-> values which will be showed in the search help

export-> value which will be exported when you select a value.

Hi,

For collective search help.

Define search help parameter check export check box

add your primary search helps in included search helps.

1. The hotkey is used within collective search helps. Have a look at DEBI a SAP supplied one which is used in transaction XD03.

For example, elementary sh DEBID (cusomers within company code) is within collective DEBI. DEBID is marked with a hotkey of 'D'. If in XD03 on the selection screen you enter '=D' in the customer number the system will take you to search help DEBID.

2. Dialog with value restriction: The dialog box for restricting values

is displayed immediately. Select this option if the list of possible

entries is normally very large. Restricting the set of data to be

processed increases the clarity of the hit list and reduces the

system load during value selection.

What this means is that instead of showing you the hitlist of the search help an intermediate screen is shown where you can enter restricting parameters.

3. Search helps import and export parameters. Imported ones come from the application to the search help. Exported ones are sent back by the search help to the application. Ones marked as neither are used by the restriction dialog and/or the hit list. Often parameters go both in and out.

Have a look at DEBID. Test it out within SE12.
