Hi,

I found this functions module in many oubound ale functionmodules :

IDOC_REDUCTION_FIELD_REDUCE

IDOC_REDUCTION_SEGMENT_TEST

why these are using . any idea.

The FM "IDOC_REDUCTION_FIELD_REDUCE" is used to reduce the fields of the segments and the fm 'IDOC_REDUCTION_SEGMENT_TEST" is used to check whether the segment is active or not.

What it is reducing . I mean it is compressing the fields data or something.

IDOC_REDUCTION_FIELD_REDUCE is to make sure that only the fields having data/values are written to the IDOC ( SDATA) else they are flagged with empty value default symbol '/'
