Hi

Call Transaction method makes an immediate call on the transaction and upload starts immediately.,

Session method only creates a session of the whole recording including all the values that have to be inserted,it does not insert values into the system. This session can be invoked anytime to upload values

In short call transaction is immediates

session is not immediate

Session method is faster

Synchronous is simoultaneous upload

Asynchornous is non-simultaneous upload

Hi,

In BDC there are two methods to upload files from legacy system to SAP.

1.Call Transaction.

2.Session Method.

The Basic difference betweent those two methods are given below.

Session Method

(Note : In session method after executing session will be created and we can schedule the session

any time so that it runs on specified time- based on our requirement)

1) Synchronous process 2)synchronous update 3)multiple transactions can be handled at one time'

4)huge amount of data can be uploaded.5)implicit error handling (Menas for errors SM35)

6) Time requirement is more 7) Data not updated till session created. 😎 Slow process 9)no sy-subrc return

Call Transaction Method

(Note : In Call transaction method execute the transaction immediately after executing the program and

recording will be done once u execute the program.)

1)asynchronous process 2)asynchronous /synchronous update

3) single transaction only handled 4)small amount of data uploaded

5)explicit error handling (Menas all the error records move to internal table and validate)

6) Time requirement is low 7) Data updated automatically 8)Fast process 9) sy-subrc possible.

Where as the call transaction method is most easy one to upload files from legacy system to SAP.

Do the recording first using t-code "SHDB" perfectly without errors.

Get the program after finishing record and insert loop at statement and endloop.

Give the selection screen for getting the input file name from legacy system.

Execute after that in display mode or background mode.You will get the output report which records are got updated and which are not get updated.
