Hi,

Firstly understand that there are 2 kinds of key.

1. Developer Key

2. Object Key.

To modify any SAP standard object you need the relevant object key.

Register the object on service market place and then get the key.

To do any kind of modifications or new developments in SAP system you need to be registered as a developer.

So for that you need the developer key by again registering the user on service market place.

Getting a developer key is a licensing issue which depends upon how many users could be registered as a developer for the SAP system.

I hope this helps you.

Hi ,

You can not login using access key. While chaning the program you need access key. If you go to transaction code SE38 and try to change the program at that time program will ask the access key. As everyone suggested do not change standard program.

Why do u need to modify standard program. It is not recommended to edit standard programs . Create ur own Z program and copy the code of standard program in that.........

Hi,

when you register your company id in SAP Market place, you can will be given the Developer Access key for using it in your changes to any of the SAP standard objects.

when, you try to login to the development system where you want to change an SAP Standard object, it will ask you to enter the Developer access key. if you give it the changes you make it to the object will get registered with SAP.

so when there is an upgrade in the system happens, SAP would easily be able to track your changes.

I hope the things are clear now for you.

Regards,

Vishnu.
