Problem with deleting number range

Hi,

I created a number range that I don't need any more so I want to delete it.

I know that I have to delete the interval first but I can't, I get a message that I have to change the status first, then I try to change the status to '0' but I get a message

'Please enter From-number greater 0'.

How can I delete the number range??

Thanks,

Naama

Hi,

Generally number ranges cannot be deleted, if documents are already posted across the range.

It is not possible to delete any document in SAP. To delete a number range object, you need to delete the number range interval. Try deleting the interval after deleting the documents posted across it.

One turnaround way is - Change interval. SELECT YEAR THAT YOU WANT TO DELETE. Example 2006. then delete it. Number range will be deleted.

But it is always not advisable to do so, as it may create inconsistencies in the system.

Hi !

If you absolutely want to do it (see risks in the post before !), you can do

as follows....

Select the number range you'd like to delete.

Select "Interval" -> "Change current number" from the menu.

Delete the actual "current number"

Save that !

Start from the begin .... now marking ther number range and delete it.

But.... be careful !

Some Reward points would be nice if that helped a bit.
