problem with character '#' and function gui_download

Hi,

i use the function gui_dowload to download an internal table into a pc file

in my table there is a text field with sometimes the character '#'. when this character is in the description

we have a carriege return in the file, but it happens only in one machine (quality) and not in developpment..

very strange ??

has someone got an idea please ??

Hi

Before you download using gui_download , pass the data through this FM SSM_REPLACE_CHAR_BY_HEX_VALUE

. It will solve the problem.

Hi,

i think, there must be different operating systems

and/or different code pages.

-> so experiment a very little with abap command:

translate wa to code page <b>TCP00</b>-CPCODEPAGE.(look f1)

Hey Jean,

I got your Point, Please check the FM Used in the Development System & Quality System also There might be some chances like while sending the Patches somebody might have changed the Parameters, if you were using the Exporting Parameters like File Type(Exporting paramter0 as 'ASC' and the write_field_sepeartor is equal to space. then it will be Padded with '#' While Downloading. When ever you are the File Type(Exporting Parameter) as 'ASC', you should see the Write_field_seperator(Exporting Parameter) is equal to '#'.

Please let me know, If you were not able to solve this, I will give you another solution, Which really Helps you a lot.

1. finally what u want the output to be in text file.

Should the output be with carriage return

as :

THIS IS LINE1

AND THIS IS LINE 2.

2 OR (without carriage return)

THIS IS LINE1 AND THIS IS LINE 2.

we have two operating systems and it works fine with one of them and not fine with the other, so our administrator will check the parameters of the second operating systems to see the difference..

in parallel, i will try to implement abap corrections..

there is no any problem

just drag the excel sheet column and incresed the lenghth of it it automatically sort ur problem
